But that small device can easily gum up the works. The fuse is a major problem not only in power systems, but in appliances as well. If the problem area is your entire house, it should be quite easy to find a fuse box. Make sure the power is completely turned off when you remove the fuse - even if the lights are off, the power might not be. You should probably wear a pair of gloves just in case, and use insulated tools if you require them.
From there, it should be quite easy to find the spare fuse. It might be beneficial to take the broken fuse with you, so that you can more easily compare it to other fuses and find the proper part. Once you try putting the new fuse in, it will be plainly evident that it doesn't fit, an insight you don't have in the hardware store.
